if you thought in past times…what does…pastamusik – well then, here’s a short update. we had to take a creative time-out, enjoy the summer and besides of that play numerous raves and club nights. label manager was still very active during that period. between playing gigs in barcelona, istanbul, london, berlin and brandenburg, she prepared the next ten pastamusik records (or files) which will be released during the next couple of months. here we go, winters here and it’s time again for some hot music.

its not easy making jams that really work the crowd just as well in bristol as in berlin. nor any other city for that matter. its those crossover artists that really stand out for us with tunes that do so much more than just ride the wave of whats hot. enter the organ grinder and his sick 3track ep for heist.

after recently launching the d3 recordings label to a great reception, the man behind vibes and pepper is ready to launch his second new label, d3 elements. the artist behind the three track ep is raymond funnye aka strong souls, who back in the mid-nineties released on still much mythologised chicago label dance mania as well as the uks black market, which also saw him work with the legendary larry heard. the music he offers here is of a high pedigree from start to finish.

next up on visionquest is the second single from wareikas righteous and raw wternal album. all little things, here in its club mix incarnation, is another example of the trios hefty musicianship and unbridled eccentric energy, where jazzy textures and pulsating grooves build up with a rising melody to the powerful vocal drop. on the first remix visionquest & nikko gibler develop expansive piano melodies alongside an elasticated bassline and vocal snippets. fred p reigns over the b-side with his raw, deep hypnotic reshape and warmed up spirit dub. this is a distinctly diverse remix package from a rich artistic source.

giovanni damico (white rabbit recordings/ragrange records - salerno) is maybe the most productive producer we ve ever come across. and were not just talking quantity, were talking quality! for geography records sixth release weve had so much fantastic material to choose from so we decided to put out two eps by giovanni. the first one is called >cuttin, samplin, housin part one<.ranging from the kind of beautiful house music geography has been known for since the release of julius steinhoffs epic out in the woods ep back in 2011 on the a-side to the more fun loving style of the b-side, reminding us of our two latest top 40 hit-records by real cool and shakarchi & straneus.

fresh off of his son of sound releases on mike simonettis new jersey records and basement floor, henry maldonado continues to produce tracks that are true to the new york underground he remembers while producing for a young strictly rhythm in 1991. delivered here is a debut ep as son of sound on his brand new district 30 imprint. a vinyl exclusive sliced 3-ways in the form of hardware-sampler style looping, shelter-eque soulful tech-house and a perfectly unpolished aesthetic revived by the likes of theo parrish, ricardo miranda and omar s.

next up on !organism is italian techno purist vincenzo palumbo aka irregular synth - a producer whos unwavering focus on the dancefloor has shot him up through the ranks in recent years. his boisterous synthetic sounds come on labels like perfekt groove recordings and the likes of richie hawtin support almost everything he releases. here forest people are also enlisted to remix. another fine paring on organism! that matches the veteran skills of irregular synth with the soon to break through ideals of forest people.

new york techno producer shawn o sullivan makes his return to l.i.e.s. under his vapauteen moniker. after an amazing release on avian as 400ppm and a collaborative effort on the corner with beau wanzer, here we get o sullivan turning down the bpms and slowly crushing everything in sight. the a-side provides three tracks of unforgiving modular slowcore beat electronics which trudge their way to the grave, while the b-side is strictly about power electronics and harsh tone work outs. sure to piss off someone on the internet or better yet, in real life.

a kenny dope gonzalez remix should not be ignored. as one half of masters at work, kenny’s production & remix credentials are unquestionable. here kenny is let loose on one of the hottest records around. trademark remix, dub, beats and tool from the dope man all straight from the board to 1/4 inch tape. remixed, produced, mastered and cut with care & precision from one of the masters of the trade.

bleary faces is the debut ep of berlin based fabian dikof. as a youngster he learned his first basic skills in producing and deejaying from mr. andre lodemann himself. all of the tracks featured here are on a slow-house tip without losing their ruff edge through a massive bass foundation. it is all about progresssion with a strong emotional build up. deep-house veteran vincenzo is on remix duties here. he re-creates the main track bleary faces with a new theme enhancing the original with some more disco-influenced touches.

after the success of the fantastic album, atomic age, no.19 music released recently from canadian musical talents my favorite robot, the label has decided to enlist four acclaimed producers to provide remixes of key tracks. detroit bad boy jimmy edgar, chicagos kate simko and legendary techno producer mr. g all appear on this great ep.

touching upon dance musiculatory milestones like detroit techno and electro, nsyde007 sees tyon, a well-known but besides this moniker for now anonymous traveller, summoning up atmospheres totally his own. this is space music. but not in the ra sense. take the a-side flaw 11, for instance. this is space music in the way it catapults you out, like the most terrible mistake made by man-machine, into the farthest reaches of an ever faster expanding universe, dark energy tearing at your nipples until they rip off, resemblances of melody orchestrating the drama/bliss of event horizon passage. its dark yet beautiful, like the smile on a dying persons face, and a heavily psychedelic trip at that – but fear not! you won’t be subjected to any despicable noodleage here, just to weird, intensely warped sounds you want to dance your ass off to. make it fat on the other side is the sci-fi equivalent to hänsel und gretel: a perpetuating feeding of the child-to-be-eaten. the finest in andromeda’s hyper-fattening molecular cuisine gets crammed into the gagging brat as doom is looming over its forehead. and with every spoon thats being recklessly punched into the poor little demon’s face it is getting closer to its, as well as the dancers ultimate goal: total nirvana. pressed on black vinyl.

mmx303 is almost ready, and we are so proud to deliver this amazing release of mituo shiomi on our macadam mambo trax series. this japanese producer has already released a brilliant ep on hotmix records last year with takeshi kouzuki. his music is very special, a kind of >lo-fi chicago house<, sometimes very raw, sometimes very poetic. here we have got all the styles, two strong floor burner with pierce and peak meter, and two beautiful atmospheric tracks with fine female and good morning mr. ear. be certain that mituo is definitively the guy to follow for the next

redhsapes is on a roll!here a massive track on present his own label. one-sided vinyl that at some point simply will not be available anymore (even tho its not limited, or pressed on 180grams vinyl or any hyped sales stuff.... just a massive techno tune for the vinyl heads out there!).

west norwood cassette library, aka bob bhamra, has been digging through the vaults of his extensive production library, serving up this delightful double pack of gems and nuggets. some of these tracks have been buried deep for a few years, others have been dubplate only for a while, so you are definitely opening up a pandoras box of delights here.

and here we are, just as promised, exploring the dark corners of nick lapien, the man otherwise known as metropolis. this time around, he comes back with a pair of extended cuts that veer off into heretofore unexplored terrain, relishing in detail with a sharp focus on momentum and lyricism.

two techno heavyweights in the form of swiss producer pascal nuzzo and uk duo nhb come together for three fierce tracks on the !organism label. nhb can be considered one the of best recent revelations in minimal techno, where they found a place thanks to their experiences of the late 90s rave underground. nhbs philosophy has always been linked with the use of real synthesizers and drum machines and that shows here, whilst nuzzo has had plenty of big hits in various sonic realms over the last few years, from french filter house to edm to full on techno.

non nr 10!! non series has become one of the strongest and well respected labels if we speak about serious techno. for its 10th birthday the label comes up with the debut album by chevel and delivers again more than only a handfull of tracks. its a masterpiece! nothing more to say here! just listen!

so here i am, happily an album older, introducing the first of adamants remix packages. since the whole project was, generally speaking, a personal affair and a lot of the album was not necessarily club-ready (does that even make sense?), we invited our friends on board to do the dirty deeds for me and rework my sounds into something normal people can dance to. first up are mind against.

especial is delighted to welcome baris to the roster. known for his edit series of obscure turkish psychedelic, rock and disco, here he takes the producers chair to present *200*. working with musicians and singers to create a completely original production. the songs message for equality (of the sexes) highlights the bigotry and backward political and religious boundaries his country faces and acts as a siren to the current troubles.

the third installment from fifty fathoms deep sees steffen baldo aka ugly drums dropping four brand new cuts. fresh from the release of his fantastic new album saturn memories on quintessentials, here he offers four sublime trademark tracks all encompassing the inventive, charisma soaked vibes from what we all now expect from the cologne based producer

french label meant serve up another ep from their fast rising montreal based duo vosper. made up of edouard le and christopher byron, the pair excels in analogue funk, have also released on throne of blood and here get remixed by items & things man marc houle. taking some of their cues from the likes of drexcyia and mark bell, the duo have a sound somewhere between darkened techno and physical ebm.
